The Chemical Industry Association elected General Manager of Pipelife Finland, Kimmo Kedonpää, as Vice Chairman in Board of Directors of Chemical Industry Association in Finland. The election was carried out at the Assembly (Annual General Meeting) on November 23, 2010.
The chemical industry is one of the three largest industrial sectors in Finland. It's share of total industrial production was over 17 % in 2009 and the share of exports of manufacturing industry was the same with 17 %. The chemical industry within it’s different sectors employs about 35.000 people in Finland. Chemical Industry Association is the association for chemical industry and related sectors, being responsible for both industrial and labour policy issues and has approximately 430 member companies.

Plastics Industry Association is a member of Association of Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) and it's member organizations.It is a supervisory organization, which aims to ensure good and profitable market conditions to it’s member companies in Finland. The Association is not profit driven and is not aiming for immediate economic benefits to it’s members. Plastics Industry employs about 14.000 people in over 600 companies in Finland.
