Global recession has not detracted from the company’s investment goals. “Poland is modernising its city and rural sewer networks and we are responding,” says Michal Mierzejewski, Marketing manager. “Demand for our sewer products has increased and we anticipate a good market for the new PRO manholes. They have been designed specifically for professional civil engineering systems. Made from tough lightweight polyethylene, they offer easier handling, faster installation and a perfect fit every time!”
The machine is the first machine of its kind in Poland and Eastern Europe and was built by Uniloy Milacron in the USA. It can deliver a 70 kilogram dose of polymer to the moulding chamber with a clamping force of 500 tons. “However, our largest single component at the moment is our 1000 mm manhole weighing 26 kilograms. With the current two-line configuration at the factory, we can process five or seven tons of these manholes every day,” explains Mierzejewski.
“Sustainable features in favor of the machine are numerous. Most important is its efficient use of raw material. Furthermore, using nitrogen as a filler to reduce clamping force presents a clear energy saving. This leading edge technology is completely new within Pipelife and the industry in general.”
Earlier this year, Pipelife Polska announced the successful commissioning of an Engel machine that makes large diameter fittings for OD 630 and even ID 600 - 800 mm.
“We are convinced that the enlargement of our manufacturing strength will enhance our presence in the sewer market and lead to important export prospects.
