July, 2008: Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen becomes Chief Executive Officer of the Pipelife Group The Supervisory Board of Pipelife had the pleasure to announce that Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen, Chief Operating Officer of Region Europe North, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Pipelife Group as of July 1st, 2008. Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen succeeds Miguel Kohlmann, who has decided to leave the Pipelife Group after nearly 10 years as of June 30th, 2008 . Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen, Danish citizen with 50 years of age, holds a Master in Economics and Business Management from University of Aarhus, Denmark. Before joining Pipelife as COO Region Europe North in 2003 he worked for ABB for nearly 20 years holding various management positions in Denmark and abroad. The Pipelife Group is a 50/50 JV between Wienerberger and Solvay. It is one of Europe’s leading Plastic Pipes and Fittings groups. It is now active in 29 countries and operates 30 factories with 2,900 employees achieving pro-forma sales of 876 mEUR in 2007.
