Pipelife is proud to announce that two of the stadiums in which the European Soccer championship 2004 takes place have been equipped with pipes manufactured at its Portuguese and Spanish subsidiary: Estádio do Dragão (Futebol Clube do Porto) The emblematic stadium of the EURO 2004 opening game - Estádio do Dragão - classified as the most ecological in Europe concerning energy savings, is equipped with Pipelife's Drainage PVC pipes. The project started during the 3rd quarter 2001 and ended at November 2003. In Total there were 2.407.100 hours of work and there has been an average of 365 workers/day, even more during September 2003. Number of seat: 52.000 Total cost: 98.000.000 Euro Football club: F.C. Porto (European Champion2004) Pipelife Portugal supplied for the Stadium all the Drainage pipe to the field produced in Pipelife Spain with PVC resin from SOLVIN and was also present with other products, such as the pipes for electrical and telecommunication cables protection, for projects around the Stadium in the involving area (roads). Football Stadium - Alvalade XXI in LISBON This magnificent Project of the well known Portuguese Architect TOMÁS TAVEIRA, has been built just aside the old JOSÉ ALVALADE Stadium, which during decades served the SPORTING CLUB PORTUGAL. This has been the only stadium which construction was already previewed before the UEFA decided that Portugal should be the Country that should organize the EURO 2004. After the conclusion it received the five star classification from this entity as the place that could receive any kind of sport event even a final of any European competition. Number of seats: 54.000 Total cost: 74.000.000 Euro Football club: Sporting Club de Portugal Pipelife took part in this project by supplying PE pipes produced by Pipelife Portugal with resins from BP SOLVAY for sewage projects built around the stadium premises.
