Successful installation of Soluforce in Germany
February 2005

At the end of 2004, 4.5 km (DN125, PN25, PE100) of Soluforce RTP pipes were installed for gas transportation in Badenwerk, Germany. For the first time the open cut was applied which required complex development- and test phases (TÜV) that were accomplished successfully by Pipelife.

In co-operation with Thüga AG, E.ON Ruhrgas AG, different supplying companies and the DVGW the basis for the authorization of the Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes could then be provided. Up to that point RTP pipes had mainly been used for oil applications.

The RTP pipes for gas transportation are designed for a maximum service pressure of 42 bar (maximum hydrotest pressure: 84 bar) and have an operating time of 50 years. The main advantages of Soluforce are the light weight, the easy and flexible installation process and the fact that they do not corrode.
