Pipelife supports South-East Asia
07. March 2004
Vienna March 2005 – In co-operation with international aid organizations, Pipelife will support the reconstruction of villages in South East Asia, which have been destroyed by the Tsunami on December 26, 2004.
“The Tsunami in South East Asia has brought a lot of harm and sorrow to the people and affected many of us. In such times it is our natural responsibility to assist especially in areas where we can contribute with products and know-how. Therefore, Pipelife and its business partners will support selected reconstruction projects in destroyed areas and supply pipe systems for water transportation as well as the necessary engineering” said Miguel Kohlmann, CEO of Pipelife International.
The total support should amount up to 50.000 EUR. The necessary products will be produced in different Pipelife companies and transported to South East Asia.
Pipelife, one of the world's leading producers of Plastic Pipes and Fittings, is present in 26 countries with 31 production units around the world. In 2004 it had sales of 605MEUR with 2800 employees. Pipelife has its headquarters in Vienna, Austria and is a Joint-Venture between Solvay of Belgium and Wienerberger of Austria.
