In November 2008 Pipelife Germany purchased the drainage pipes production line of the German company Funke. With this investment Pipelife wants to strengthen its leadership position in Europe offering its customers a full range of products adapted to each market. The agriculture pipes and fittings business, which includes land drainage, is a strategic application for Pipelife who already made several acquisitions in Germany, France and the Benelux since 2004. The Pipelife Group is a 50/50 JV between Wienerberger and Solvay. It is one of Europe’s leading Plastic Pipes and Fittings groups. It is now active in 28 countries and operates 29 factories with 2,900 employees achieving pro-forma sales of 876 mEUR in 2007.
