Pipelife acquires Propipe Oy
Vienna, October 4, 2004
Pipelife, one of the world's leading producers of Plastic Pipes and Fittings, has signed a contract to acquire Propipe Oy in Finland. The acquisition will have a retroactive effect as of April 1st, 2004.

Propipe which is located in the town of Ii, near Oulu in Finland, is a company specialized in the strongly growing market of Environmental Solutions (i.e. waste water treatment, oil and sand separators, chambers, fittings). The company employs 26 employees and has yearly sales of around 3mEUR.

"This acquisition will strengthen Pipelife's market position in Finland with a very competitive range of products from which our customers will significantly benefit" commented Miguel Kohlmann, CEO of the Pipelife Group, adding "We also expect Propipe to strongly contribute with know-how towards Pipelife companies in other countries regarding the development of local environmental solutions"

The Pipelife group is present in 26 countries with 30 production units around the world. In 2003 it had sales of 562MEUR with 2700 employees. The group has its headquarters in Austria and is a Joint-Venture between Solvay of Belgium and Wienerberger of Austria.
