The first Soluforce project in Germany is under the way. The pipe is used for a special application in an underground reservoir (like a subsurface huge cave) for natural gas, near Berlin. The pipes (5") are used to transport a mix of natural gas and very aggresive water, that leave the reservoir under pressure up to 20bars. Water has a pH-value of 3-5 ! In order to make the gas usable, it is then seperated from the water. The normal life time for steel pipes in such kind of application is around 4 years. Solofurce - in contrast - has an expected life time of around 50 years in this case. Pipelife will supply the pipes at the beginning of April, whereby installation will begin after Easter.
