Pipelife launches the SBR System
December 2007

SBR (Sequence Batch Reactor) is our new small to medium-size Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP).


The draining of untreated sewage directly into nature areas is no longer permitted in most European countries. However, according to a UNEP report, up to 90% of waste water in developing countries is discharged into the scarce natural areas without treatment.
Our SBR system removes up to 99% of dirt from sewage water, which can make the world healthier and cleaner.


We offer solutions for households, residences and businesses that easily cover 4 to 250 residents/units. On request, we can also create systems for up to 2,000 units.



Excellent cleaning facilities, easy installation and handling, low energy consumption and fair prices represent key benefits for our customers. The system can be installed inside two or more plastic reactor tanks as a complete package solution or separately using available septic tanks. The installation of our SBR swimmer into new or existing tanks is quick and easy.


This state-of-the-art floating system, which always ensures an optimal cleaning position in the chamber, is based on Grundfos family pumps as well as an aerator that was developed especially for the SBR swimming units.


It’s holiday time and nature is waiting with a variety of adventures – the seaside is ready for swimming and resting, the mountains for hiking and climbing. Our home will left alone and empty for several weeks, maybe months. All this is no problem for our SBR system: an intelligent control unit keeps the microbiological organisms (suspended biomass) in the system alive and working for a number of months, or longer if necessary.


With this system, Pipelife has again demonstrated its reputation as a high-end producer – and the creator of a new family of products with an environmental focus.
