Pipelife takes over the European PVC pipe business of Drossbach
July 2004: Pipelife, one of the worlds leading producers of pipe systems, acquired the European PVC pipe business of Drossbach, a German based manufacturer of polyethylene/polypropylene pipes and machinery for corrugated pipes.


The acquired PVC pipe business, including the European Drossbach customer portfolio and all the production equipment, is composed of a complete and high quality range of pipes for agricultural, industrial and road drainage.

By this acquisition, Pipelife who is already the no. 1 producer of drainage systems in Europe, will further strengthen its leadership in the market having a wider presence in Europe and offering a larger range of products. Pipelife will transfer the Drossbach production lines to its plants giving full priority to the continuity and the quality of services to the customers all across Europe.

Drossbach GmbH & Co. KG, based in Rain am Lech / Germany, is specialized in the manufacture of machinery for the production of corrugated pipes and also a producer of polyethylene/polypropylene pipes and fittings.

The Pipelife group headquartered in Vienna / Austria is a joint venture between Solvay and Wienerberger. Pipelife is one of the leading plastic pipe systems producers in the world, present in 26 countries with sales of 566m€ in 2003.
