Social Responsibility

EXPLORE

PUTTING PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond respecting the environment; we value sustainable relationships with our employees, with our clients and partners, and with the communities in which we operate.

As signees of the UN Global Compact, we uphold principles of human rights, labor standards and anti-corruption throughout our working practices, while actively supporting local social projects and institutions.

Employee safety

The safety of our employees is paramount to our sustainable working practices. This is why we implement the highest safety standards at our factories to avoid accidents wherever possible. We also ensure regular dialogues between management and workers, allowing those on the frontline to dictate how their working environment can become safer and more productive.

Development training

As part of wienerberger, all Pipelife employees have access to diverse training opportunities beyond their regular duties. Through face-to-face tutorials, online webinars or interactive e-learning modules, we nurture a culture of continuous development and expertise among our staff.

Our commitment to training isn’t entirely inward-focused either. We are well aware of the skilled labor shortages that challenge our industry, and in the interest of forging long-term sustainable partnerships, wienerberger has committed to conducting 30,000 hours of installer training from 2023 to 2026.

Engaging our experts

At Pipelife, we encourage innovation from within, providing employees with a platform to share their ideas for product innovations and best practices through our Ideas & More online database.

With more than 700 ideas already implemented — including the development of stormwater retention crates made entirely from recycled materials — this initiative harnesses the imagination and creativity of Pipelife experts.

Sustainable partnerships

We consider our clients and partners part of our extended Pipelife family. Respect, transparency and support are fundamental to forging and maintaining these partnerships.

It is, therefore, our responsibility to conduct business in a fair and sustainable manner, following strict ethical principles and codes of conduct. This is how we ensure all business interactions are fair, legal and beneficial for everyone involved.

Embracing diversity

As a brand of wienerberger, we are committed to their objective of fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across all our locations. By developing and implementing DEI action plans tailored to local needs and legislation, we ensure that the perspectives of all employees are valued and integrated into our daily business practices.

Pipelife in the community

Our role in the communities we serve goes beyond supplying piping solutions. We are proud to contribute to local causes through workshops and product donations. Here are a few examples of recent social projects:

Through wienerberger, we also supply solutions to the group’s long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. This initiative plans to build 200 housing units per year by 2026 — more than doubling our previous efforts and providing safe homes for people in need.
