EXPLORE

Positioning our environment at the heart of water and energy management

Building efficient, comfortable and sustainable futures demands a strategic commitment to the tools and systems that will get us there. We understand that sustainability must be at the core of all our products — in their design, composition, application and impact.

That is why our solutions have been engineered to consume less, deliver more, and last longer.

Comprehensive stormwater management

The global climate crisis brings changing weather patterns that create new and complex challenges for our environment and resource requirements. Comprehensive and sustainable stormwater management is fundamental to ensuring businesses and communities can navigate these newfound challenges while embracing opportunities to engage in cost-saving circular practices, such as rainwater harvesting and reuse.

Precision irrigation

By intentionally distributing water where and when it is required, we can reduce waste in the vital yet resource-intensive agricultural industry. Our sophisticated systems utilize accurate, pressure-compensating technology to irrigate land as effectively as possible, ensuring crops flourish and vital resources are conserved. This reduces energy usage and limits the environmental impact of agricultural practices, promoting a more sustainable approach to farming and land management.

Energy-efficient heating and cooling

Heating and cooling are the most energy-intensive aspects of modern living. As summers get warmer and winters get colder, our reliance on these systems will only increase. Pipelife hydronic solutions address these challenges head-on with low-energy systems that can be paired with green power sources to reduce our reliance on fossil fuel consumption for everyday comfort.

Green hydrogen transport

At a time when diversifying our energy mix is more important than ever, Pipelife subsidiary SoluForce is revolutionizing green hydrogen transportation through pressure-resilient pipelines. Our large-scale flexible pipes convey green hydrogen energy up to 42 bar operating pressure — a global first in hydrogen transport. These innovative piping solutions help communities achieve local green hydrogen distribution in a fast, flexible and cost-effective manner.

Sustainable commitments

As a part of the world of wienerberger, we are committed to wienerberger’s Sustainability Program 2026. This initiative builds on the ambitions of the 2023 program — decarbonization, increased biodiversity, and embracing circular economies — to include new goals oriented towards improving water and waste management, as well as increasing our revenue from products that support the development of net zero buildings.

Some of the ways Pipelife solutions support these ambitions include:

Sprinkler Irrigation Field

Water management

Efficient irrigation lines and sustainable stormwater management systems ensure we reduce unnecessary waste and maintain natural water cycles without adverse effects on our local environment. These solutions are projected to save 35 million m3 of water between 2023 and 2026.

Waste minimization

As of 2023, all Pipelife products are reusable or recyclable, with growing efforts to include recycled materials in production. We have enacted this goal without compromising the quality and durability of our products, ensuring longevity is prioritized. These efforts go a long way to minimizing unnecessary landfill waste and the associated environmental impact.

Buildings currently account for 40% of the EU's energy consumption and 35% of its energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. Advancements in building materials, energy systems and design enable stepping away from unsustainable construction practices, replacing the EU's building stock with structures that are both eco-friendly and economical for end users.

Net zero buildings

The European Green Deal highlights the importance of efficient heating and cooling in its vision for a decarbonized building stock by 2050. Our hydronic solutions support this through significantly lower energy requirements than traditional HVAC systems, as well as prioritizing compatibility with renewables.
